Choosing a Company Name

When forming a limited company the name of the company can be an important decision. Some people may choose the first name that they think of and others may select a ready made company for speed or because they like a particular name. However, many businesses may prefer to select a company name that either clearly distinguishes itself from its competitors or contains something unique or personal. Company names can be chosen for different reasons.

One of the most common ways of selecting a company name is to use something personal. A quick look through your local newspaper will probably introduce you to many personalised business names. Johnson Consulting Limited, T Smith & Son Limited, Stephens & Barley Limited are some fictional examples of what may be found. This may instantly make a company recognisable locally, it can be deemed as more personal by its customers, and often works well within geographical areas. However, it does little to tell new customers what your company does.

A popular choice for a small business is to choose a name that is 'descriptive'. This tells prospective clients exactly what your company does. Examples of this may be to call your business The Window Company Limited, City IT Consultants Limited or The Advertising Agency Limited. Whilst this does serve to reinforce your primary business it offers little differentiation and may easily be adapted by competitors.

A less personal option is to use a company name that is 'associative'. This type of company name helps to create an image or connection to your business activity. It is less direct than using a descriptive name but helps to position your company's name within the market through peoples understanding of what words mean. For example a flick through the Yellow Pages will offer plenty of examples of this. A hairdresser called Classic Cuts or a printer called Selectaprint Limited are examples of what may be found. These names offer some differentiation but may not ultimately set your company aside from its competitors.

An alternative is to choose a company name that is 'freestanding'. These names are completely abstract and not related to the companies business activities. A fictional example may be to call your catering company Zedoc Limited. There are many popular brand names that illustrate this point. Consider, Kodak, Gillette, or Mars, these names will probably be instantly recognisable to you and conjure up a particular product or business. This is a good way of setting your company aside from the competition but it is important to consider the market that you operate in. Will your prospective clients know what your business is offering?

Choosing a company name may be a simple process, but it is not uncommon for people to deliberate over names for quite some time. Whilst company names can, and often are, changed during the life of the company most people like to choose a name that they like from the outset. Therefore consider your market, how much you want to differentiate from your competitors and what your company name should say about your organisation. Once the decision is made focus on the important business of making your company a success.

Each time you find one, you sign up.

Every time someone clicks your link and buys from the site you earn a commission. Simple!

Method #2

You use a free service which is a web site that has lots of companies with a product offering an affiliate program.

There are many available.

Click the link at the bottom of this article for the one, in my opinion, is the best I've found. IT'S FREE.

To sign up you don't need to provide any credit card details, so it's completely safe. You will however need a Paypal account. You just tell them the Paypal email address to pay the funds.

If you don't like Paypal they have a few other options.

And, oh yes. It's free to join.

When you've joined simply click the marketplace tab and scan the products. Any item you wish to promote you simply click the promote button. You are then given your affiliate URL and all the sales patter you want. Or you can make up your own.

Simple! You've got nothing to lose. Sign up now (IT'S FREE) and you'll soon be agreeing with me that this is the simplest and most effective way of earning a living from the internet.

While researching the affiliate industry this morning. I found some information on finding good affiliate programs.
As I had learned I found a targeted industry and went from there looking for programs. Which has been pretty successful. The strategy to build a productive affil business that Im going to try is the shotgun approach.
While still working your present affil (affiliate) business, of course, Try signing up for as many programs a day as you can handle. A good number to shoot for is 10-20 a day from different types of programs ie:cookware,electronics,books,software,hardware. You get the picture. Out of that many programs you will find productive,income producing affiliate programs in different industries. Over time you will have a business consisting of hundreds of producing affiliate programs.

Although the previous post is a reprint, I found the content to be invaluable. So I used the reprint.
One thing I ask is as you notice the content talks about product resell and your job is to "presell" not try to sell a product or service your affiliate page is selling. Then your visitor feels pitched to instead of "informed" then your affiliate program does the selling. When you work it in this manner your visitor is in an open, informed,ready to buy state of mind instead of a pitched to onguard state.

10 Ways To Increase Your Affiliate Commissions

1. Participate in chat rooms related to the product
you're reselling. Start a conversation with a person
without trying to sell to them. Later on, while you
are chatting, mention the product you're reselling.

2. Create a free ebook with the advertisement and
link of your affiliate web site. The subject of the free
ebook should draw your target audience to down-
load it. Also submit it to some ebook directories.

3. Start your own affiliate program directory. Join
a large number of affiliate programs and list them all
in a directory format on your web site. Then just
advertise your free affiliate program directory.

4. Write your own affiliate program ads. If all the
other affiliates use the same ads you do, that does
not give you an edge over your competition. Use
a different ad to give yourself an advantage over
all the other affiliates.

5. Use a personal endorsement ad. Only use one if
you've actually bought the product or service for the
affiliate program. Tell people what kind of benefits
and results you've received using the product.

6. Advertise the product you're reselling in your
signature file. Use an attention getting headline and
a good reason for them to visit your affiliate site.
Make sure your sig file doesn't go over 5 lines.

7. Join a web ring. It should attract the same type
of people that would be interested in buying the
product you're reselling. You could also trade links
on your own with other related web sites.

8. Participate on web discussion boards. Post your
comments, answer other people's questions, and
ask your own questions. Include your affiliate text
link under each message you post.

9. Create a free ezine. Use your ezine to advertise
the affiliate programs you've joined. Submit your
ezine to online ezine directories and promote it on
your web site.

10. Start a private web site. Use it as a free bonus
if people buy the product you resell. You could
also allow people to join for free and you could
advertise the affiliate program you've joined.
